Equanimeous St. Brown is one of the top players out West and one of the nation's top receivers. Notre Dame has been high on his list since the spring and the athlete said he loved his time in South Bend.
"It was a great trip, I had a really good time," St. Brown said. "I would say the highlight for me was hanging out with the players after the big win over Stanford. It was an incredible game day atmosphere and even though it was cold and raining, the fans were loud and no one left early.
"The players were all great with me and really took me in. My host was Peter Mokwuah and he was real cool. All the players were fun to be around and after the game, they took me around and I really liked it there. That was the big difference between my visit in the summer, I got to see the students on campus and there was a lot more going on. I got to hang out with the players on the team and that was a lot of fun."
On Sunday, St. Brown toured the campus and had a chance to sit down with the coaches.
"I talked with Coach Kelly and Coach Denbrock quite a bit," St. Brown said. "I like their offense a lot, they throw the ball and let their receivers make plays. They have some good young receivers but I think I could come in and play early and that's definitely a goal of mine.
"Coach Kelly and the rest of the guys told me how much they want me and said I'm a high priority for them. They asked how I liked it there and what my timeframe for a decision was. There was no pressure to commit or anything and I told them I had a great time but I want to take a few more trips before I make my decision. I'm very comfortable at Notre Dame though and it's a great option for me."
St. Brown hasn't set any visit dates yet but mentioned three schools he would like to lock in.
"I'm looking to visit USC, UCLA and Utah," St. Brown said. "I'm still looking at Stanford too but I already took a couple of visits and was there for Junior Day so I have a good feel for them. USC and UCLA are close to home but I still want to visit to get a closer look and I've actually been looking at Utah for a while and they have been recruiting me hard.
"As for when I'll commit, I don't have a set time. I want to do my visits during the season so I could commit after my trips are done or if I still don't know, just wait and do it closer to Signing Day. I'm in no hurry and won't commit anywhere until I'm 100% sure it's what I want to do.
"I don't have a leader right now, I'm open to all the schools on my short list. That's what the visits will be about, I want to see where I fit in the best and where I can have the most success on and off the field."
