VIDEO: Owa Says Duck Game is Measuring Stick

OCT. 10 -- Senior defensive end Owamagbe Odighizuwa talked about how the Oregon game is a measuring stick for this UCLA team, and trying to contain Oregon's running game...

Owamagbe Odighizuwa talked to the media during Oregon week.

On the run defense:
As a unit, we didn't do a very good job of containing of No. 23. We just didn't get the job done. He ran hard and made it a tough night for us.

On if they did anything different with Thompson:
For the most part we saw everything we gameplanned for. On certain situations, it was a mismatch for us and they capitalized on them. They out-executed us.

On the final drive:
I think again, the running back was turning his feet and getting extra yards and really killing us on defense.

On the emotions on the defense:
Its hard, anytime you lose a game like this at home. We had goals for ourselves so it's hard. And you have a high expectation for yourselves so when you lose, in the fashion we did, it's hard. We have to drive on, let it go and get ready for Oregon next week.

On adjusting to Kendal Thompson:
It was definitely a difficult thing. Number one, he's very athletic, he scrambles and got yards everytime he ran and made it difficult and we didn't get it done.

On how much they prepped for Thompson:
We prepped for Travis Wilson mostly. We heard that he was going to play, but we prepped for Wilson.

On not getting a good look at Thompson:
He just scrambled and really hurt us with his feet. Obviously we weren't worried with him as a quarterback, but he got the job done with his feet.
