Long In Double Digits

OCT. 13 -- A new Pac-12 offer is in for the Los Angeles (Calif.) Loyola 2016 athlete, David Long, and more could be close...

Los Angeles (Calif.) Loyola 2016 receiver David Long (6-0, 175) has ten offers, with his most recent coming earlier this week.

California offered me over FaceTime,” said Long.

The Bears joined Arizona, Arizona State, Miami, Nebraska, New Mexico, UCLA, Utah, Washington and Washington State in offering Long.

More schools have been in touch.

Notre Dame stopped by a few weeks ago,” said Long. “I had a great talk with the coach and how I would fit into their scheme.”

A couple of Pac-12 schools have been picking up their contact level too, both having offered and another could be close.

“I’ve also been building a good relationship with both Washington and Arizona State,” said Long. “Colorado was one of the schools that spoke with me early on and they’ve began to recruit both Myles Bryant and I harder.”

UCLA offered Long during the summer and he’s got a former Loyola coach on the Bruins staff.

“Coach (Kennedy) Polamalu offered me and he coached me at Loyola,” said Long. “But Coach Yarbs (Eric Yarber) is also recruiting me. I spent a lot of time with him at the camp (during the summer).”

A handful of other schools have been picking up their interest.

“Some new interests are Oregon, Oregon State, Duke and Tennessee,” said Long. “I also attended the USC vs. Arizona State game.”

Long is hoping to visit some schools following the season.

“I’ve started to think of some visits I will take after the season, but nothing is final until I go over it with my coaches and family,” said Long.
