Dechaun Holiday has had a very solid senior year, showing even more versatility than originally believed. The athlete has always been best described as a swing defensive back who could end up at corner or safety depending on how much bigger he gets and now looks like a legitimate receiver prospect as well.
Holiday is a naturally big kid, almost 6-3 and pushing 205 pounds. We've always said he has a chance to play corner but could outgrow the position and might be a better fit down the line as a safety. He has excellent ball skills, is very rangy and makes plays. He has a physical presence and is just a good all around football player.
On the recruiting front, Holiday has patiently waited the process out and doesn't appear to be in any hurry to lock in his visit dates.
"I'm just real focused on our season right now so I haven't gotten around to setting up my trips," Holiday said. "I need to get the thumbs up from my coach but the season takes up so much time and that's where all my focus is at right now so more than likely, I'll get on that after November."
Holiday said he wants to take all five and has three schools in mind right now.
"I know I want to visit Washington, Oregon and Oklahoma," Holiday said. "I'm not sure about the other two right now, I'm keeping them open. UCLA is recruiting me harder than anyone and I could visit there but I've already been there so many times so I'm not sure I want to take an official visit. It's the same thing with USC, I've been before so not sure I want to use an official.
"We'll see though, if those schools are the ones I'm most comfortable, I could go ahead and visit. As for when I'll commit, it could be at the Army AA Game or closer to Signing Day. Right now, I'm still open and still have my visits so I'm not close to pulling the trigger any time soon."
