West Recruiting Notebook

OCT. 17 -- A look at the latest news and notes from out West in this week's notebook...

Rankings Updates for 2015

He may have been the first player from the West in the 2015 class to get an offer, when he was a freshman, but he's the most recent player in the region to get a fifth star.

Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro receiver Christian Kirk, the top prospect in Arizona and the West's top receiver, moved into five-star territory this week in Scout's most recent recruiting update.

Five-star receiver Christian Kirk

Kirk has offers from all over the country and has been a standout at just about every event he's attended the past three years, including numerous NFTC camps, and more importantly, being one of just two players from the West to be invited to The Opening twice.

The West also saw two new additions to the Scout 300 in Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame receiver C.J. Sanders, a commit to Notre Dame and Upland (Calif.) linebacker Josh Woods, a commit to UCLA.
