Mission Viejo (Calif.) Tesoro 2016 quarterback Devon Modster is one of the more intriguing prospects in the West and one college program is looking to impress him.
“Arizona is the school that has offered me," Modster said. "It was a great feeling when that happened, and I like what I’ve heard. They think I fit in well there and I can see that."
One of the main reasons Modster feels he can fit in at Arizona is because of what he can do with his feet as well as his arm.
"They have the type off offense that needs the quarterback to be able to run and throw," Modster said. "That’s my game.
“The thing about my game is when I run I can break it, but also extend the play for a lot longer and try to wait until a receiver a gets open. That is something that I’m always working on.”
While his offer list isn’t extensive, Modster is a player who could see his recruitment pick up exponentially in the coming months.
“UCLA and Arizona State have been talking to me, and there are some other places that stay in touch," he said. "My thing is that if I work hard enough, things will work out in my mind. I have the physical ability to be good and I want to get to that next level.
“I also want to go to a place where the coaches really want me. The trips and how each place recruits me will play a definite role.”
If everything goes as planned, Modster would like to set up some visits soon.
“I would like to take some trips just so I can be able to see what the different offenses practice and how the coaches interact with the players," he said. "That will play a big part in the process.”
