High School Team: Los Angeles Cathedral
Recruitment: Committed to UCLA
Evaluation: Having watched Kobe Paras again last Sunday, as you can see in the video, he's about 6-5 with very long arms and is really naturally gifted, from his athleticism to his vision to his stroke. He obviously comes from good basketball/athleticism genes and it shows.
He's best at attacking the basket, although with hard work there's no reason why ultimately he won't be able to be a good shooter as well, even if his shot is pretty inconsistent today.
Paras should be a much better rebounder given his physical tools compared to the opposition, and defensively has a ways to go, both in terms of fundamentals and effort.
I think he's a Top 100 prospect from a talent perspective. His work ethic, attitude, acceptance of coaching, etc. will determine his ultimate success.
There is a long way to go for Paras, since he's just a sophomore, so it will be interesting to track his development from here.
