James on Ohio State Visit

Dec. 2 -- The four-star UCLA commit came away from his Ohio State visit very impressed, but says he's still solidly committed to the Bruins...

Andre James is the top linemen in the state of Utah and he is one of the top Olinemen out West in 2015. The Herriman Mustangs offensive tackle committed to UCLA at The Opening this summer, but he has continued to communicate with a few other schools.

"I'd consider myself a solid UCLA commit, but I am just making sure that I don't miss out on anything and end up making a mistake," James explained. "Ohio State and Utah have continued to recruit me, so I wanted to check those schools out, just to be certain."

Ohio State coaches and fans could be encouraged by their chances to flip yet another prospect out of the Beehive State.

"After spending the weekend in Ohio State, it is safe to say that my decision is a lot tougher now," James said. "My trip to Columbus was really good. I visited this summer, but I got to do and see a lot more this time. The most important thing for me was watching the guys on the team interact. They are a really tight team and that's something that I am really looking for."

Jamarco Jones and Kyle Berger hosted the standout tackle this weekend.

"We had a really good time," James claimed. "Me and my dad were really impressed by the whole experience. Watching Coach Meyer on game day was really cool. He is an intense coach and he can definitely get his guys ready for battle. Watching them take on Michigan was a really crazy experience. I think they had over 108,000 fans. It was really loud the entire game."

When comparing UCLA to Ohio State, James said they are completely different schools and they both have a lot of strengths.

"It's really hard to compare the two schools head to head," James claimed. "UCLA is a city school, whereas Ohio State feels like more of a college town to me. Coach Mora is a really good coach and obviously Urban is one of the best. I'm still processing everything right now. I am taking a visit to Utah pretty soon, and after that it will be time to make a decision. I think after my final official visit, I will sit down with my family and maybe my high school coaches and break everything down. Like I said, I am committed to UCLA, so it will take a lot to change that."

"I wasn't sure Ohio State still wanted offensive linemen, after Branden Bowen committed there, but the coaches told me they still want two more offensive tackles. I am definitely considering the Buckeyes. UCLA is my top school, followed by Ohio State. Utah is my third favorite school right now, but obviously that could change after my upcoming visit."
