Ulu-Perry Still Solid to UCLA

Dec. 2 -- Fred Ulu-Perry has put official visits on hold to focus on the Under Armour All-American game next month...

The nation's top center has delayed his final three official visits to prepare for the upcoming All-American game. Fred Ulu-Perry is committed to UCLA and feels comfortable that he will be a Bruin come Signing Day. With that being said, the Saint Louis (HI) four-star interior linemen is still taking his visits to make sure that UCLA is the right place for him.

"I'm definitely going to get back to the recruiting in January," Ulu-Perry explained. "I decided to postpone a few of my trips set up last week and this weekend to focus on the Under Armour game. I'm lifting hard for it and doing field training. I'm taking it really seriously. I am represented the 808 out there. Me, Canton Kaumatule, and Breiden Fehoko are going to put on a show. This game is an honor and a blessing. I am going to go out there and represent for my home, my family, and my teammates."

Ulu-Perry has been relatively busy up until now with recruiting. He took his official visit to Texas Tech a few weeks back and has also been spending a lot of time around the Hawaii football program.

"I was out at Texas Tech a few weeks ago, and I had a really good time," Ulu-Perry claimed. "With that being said, I couldn't see myself there for 3-5 years. I love the coaching staff and really liked the team, but at the end of the day, it wasn't the right fit for me. I am also planning visits to Colorado, Oregon State, and Texas A&M."

"Colorado and A&M are locked in for January, Oregon State still isn't set up. I think Texas A&M could be interesting. I'm considering the Aggies. My old teammate Jeremy Tabuyo is out there and I look forward to seeing what it's all about out there. Location is not something I'm concerned about, I'll play wherever is the best fit. I'm looking forward to my trips."

Ulu-Perry has also been spending a lot of time around the hometown team.

"I think I've been to just about every Hawaii home game this year," Ulu-Perry said. "I have been checking out a few of their practices too. I like watching their offensive line. This is the team I grew up watching, so it will always have a place in my heart. Coach Chow tells me there will always be a spot for me and that I could change the culture locally about the Warriors."

With the visits and interest from other schools, should the Bruin faithful be worried?

"I'm pretty solid to UCLA," Ulu-Perry stated. "I love it there. It feels like home to me. The coaches are great. I am really excited to play for Coach Klemm and Coach Mora. The entire staff is pretty cool. Coach Klemm will actually be out here this week to do a home visit with me on Thursday. It's hard to envision myself going anywhere else. I don't think anyone needs to worry."

Ulu-Perry is a rock up front. He is strong, tough, and smart. His footwork is good and he is an improving athlete. He is one of the top interior linemen out West in 2015 and he is the best center in the country. Ulu-Perry will be a building block for the Bruins for years to come.
