West Recruiting Notebook

  • Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman tight end Alize Jones will visit UCLA officially on either January 16th or January 23rd and he said he'll finalize his decision following the trip. Jones said he's only considering UCLA, where he's been committed since November of 2013, and Notre Dame, where he visited officially earlier this month.
  • Long Beach (Calif.) Poly defensive lineman Joseph Wicker said he's down to three schools: Arizona State, Texas Tech and UCLA. But Wicker also said that Arizona State and UCLA have his attention the most. He'll take his fifth and final visit on January 23rd. Wicker said he'll announce on Signing Day.
  • Newhall (Calif.) Hart receiver Trent Irwin continues to be down to Arizona State and Stanford but said he doesn't have a hard deadline, since he keeps pushing his decision back. He's visited both schools officially and had both head coaches in for their in-homes.
  • San Marcos (Calif.) Mission Hills cornerback Dechaun Holiday has yet to take an official visit but will do so in January, visiting Arizona State on the 16th, Washington on the 23rd and UCLA on the 30th and he'll decide on Signing Day.
  • Salt Lake City (Utah) Brighton linebacker Osa Masina was set to announce on Saturday at the U.S. Army Bowl but said he'll wait till he gets back to Utah and will announce at his school in front of his friends and family. Masina said all three schools that are his finalists, Arizona State, UCLA and USC, remain even.
