Los Angeles (Calif.) Loyola 2016 athlete Jordan Riordan (5-10, 170), was one of a trio of Cubs in San Antonio for the U.S. Army Combine.

“It was great,” said Riordan. “It was a great opportunity for me to compete against some of the top players. I’ll be doing a lot of camps with (teammates) David Long and Myles Bryant.”

On the recruiting front, Riordan said that he’s staying patient in looking for his first offer.

“I’ve been talking with UCLA a lot, they like me and I’ve been talking a lot with Arizona,” said Riordan.

Kennedy Polamalu, UCLA’s running backs coach, coached Riordan when he was a sophomore and Demetrice Martin and his father go back to their childhood.

“Coach KP and Coach Meat are recruiting me,” said Riordan. “I’ve known Coach Meat for a while and Coach KP coached me last year so he’s been recruiting me.”

Riordan said he grew up a fan of both Los Angeles schools.

“I grew up watching UCLA and USC, being from Southern California,” said Riordan. “So I definitely like both schools.”

Riordan can play on either side of the ball, but offense is where he feels his future is.

“I’ll play both sides, safety and receiver,” said Riordan. “I’ve played a lot of receiver and am most comfortable with that though.”

Riordan said he’ll be playing with BBT on the 7v7 circuit this spring.
