"It was a great visit, I loved everything about it," Marshall said. "I got a great vibe with all the players and coaches there and they really too me in. I spent a lot of time with Coach Fisher and Coach Kelly, the DB coach. He's a real laid back guy but is very smart and knows what he's doing.
"We went over the scheme and it really fits me well. They play a lot of man and because they're DL is always so good, they can pressure the QB and let the corners play aggressively. They play a lot of press coverage and will also roll in to some nickel but it definitely fits my strengths as a corner for sure."
Marshall said he connected well with the players on the team and knew a handful of the guys already.
"I've played in a lot of national events so I knew a lot of the guys and some of the recruits," Marshall said. "It's a great group and I definitely got the sense of family there from them. I din't really have one host, I had two or three guys that were hosting me but we all hung out together.
"FSU is known for getting a lot of DBs in to the League (NFL), they have a great tradition for that and we definitely talked a lot about that. It's a major selling point for me, that and the fact that I could come in and play early. They graduate some corners and the coaches really feel I can come in and compete for a starting spot right away.
"If there was one big take away from the visit, I would say it was the opportunity to play right away. You wouldn't think the depth chart would be so open at a school like FSU but it is. I'm looking at a lot of other things too though. We talked about networking and life after football. The location won't bother me, I'll go anywhere if it's the right fit and FSU is definitely a school I'm going to give a strong look at."
Marshall is now headed straight to Michigan for the second leg of his back to back weekend official visits.
"I'm ready for it, I'm not too tired," Marshall said. "I still have some juice left in the tank for sure. This is the plan I set out for myself so I can't complain about it now. We don't have school tomorrow so it works out well and I'm excited to see Michigan. It's another great school with tradition and a great head coach so I'm ready to go."
