Fontana (Calif.) Summit 2016 wide receiver Damian Alloway is one of the better prospects in the junior class, but he’s not resting on his laurels.
“I’m doing a lot of 7 on 7 right now and a lot of track stuff as well,” Alloway said. “Everything I do is in an effort to get better at football. I feel I had a really good season last year, but I can get better.”
A really good season is an understatement.
“I had 25 touchdowns and made a lot of good plays, but I’m a perfectionist and I had three fumbles last season that have really bothered me this offseason," Alloway said.
"I’m working with the football and my hands to try and make sure that never happens again.”
Most of the major schools in the country aren’t worried about Alloway’s three fumbles. In fact, he figures to have his choice of schools when all is said and done.
“USC and UCLA have been sending out stuff to me and I’m going to take my first visit to USC later this month," he said. "I’m not totally sure what to expect, but I would imagine it will be a pretty good time. This is really kind of the start of my recruitment.”
Alloway figures to take more trips in the near future.
“I like a lot of the schools out west," he said. "Places like Arizona just gave me a call this week. They think I can help out there early.
"I want to give everyone the chance, especially since I don’t know a lot. I just want to find a place with a fun offense and a coaching staff that I dig. I’m looking at everyone.”
