Broadus Shows California Love

Feb. 4 -- Four-star wide receiver Cordell Broadus committed to UCLA on Wednesday...

After a weird recruitment that saw him leaning toward Arizona State for much of the last few months, Cordell Broadus shocked quite a few by opting for the hometown Bruins on Wednesday.

"I've committed to UCLA," Broadus said on ESPNU. "It's a great place, and it'd be great to play with all the great athletes. I want to go in there and work hard."

UCLA just recently got involved with Broadus again after a mutual cooling a few months ago, and despite never officially visiting, Broadus decided that UCLA would be the best fit for him going forward.

About what stood out about Jim Mora: "His humility. He's a great coach, and he has that NFL experience."

His father Snoop said that the decision was made based on more than just football. "Football isn't going to be there forever," he said. "But life is."

A long-time USC fan, Snoop said: "We're Bruins now."

Broadus is the No. 42 wide receiver in the country, and adds another big body to a receiving corps that's beginning to earn a reputation as one of the most physical in the country.
