Get to Know 2016: Camilo Eifler

Feb. 10 -- Four-star linebacker Camilo Eifler has already visited UCLA and has an offer from the Bruins...

Evaluation:
Eifler is a very good athlete who has already shown an advanced feel for the linebacker position. He diagnoses plays very quickly, which allows him to get upfield quickly on designed runs as well as keep his balance on misdirection. He excels in coverage, already showing some ability as a ballhawk, recording a few interceptions this past year. He has a good body that looks like it can add some good weight, so his 210 pound frame could easily grow into 230 to 240 pounds by his second year in college. He'd probably be best suited to playing weak-side linebacker in a 4-3, so his fit in UCLA's system could be anywhere from inside linebacker to Myles Jack's outside linebacker position. He could be poised for a big senior year as he continues to fill out his body, which should raise his profile further as a prospect.

Recruiting:
UCLA OFFER: The Bruins are already doing well with Eifler. The early four-star visited UCLA unofficially in January, which is a good sign of his early interest in the school. UCLA will certainly have some competition, though, with a variety of schools already on Eifler hard. California was one of the first to offer, and the Bears have the added advantage of both of Eifler's parents working at the school (his mother is a professor). He's also gotten attention from Stanford, who could offer depending on how his grades look after this year. All told the linebacker has seven early offers, with plenty of schools waiting in the wings.
