UCLA Offers 2015 Indiana Big

Feb. 11 -- He's a 6-9, face-up four man who has been getting high-major offers during his senior season...

Evaluation:
Olesinki is a development player along the lines of Gyorgy Goloman, the current Bruin freshman. He has decent skills, and translates to the college level as a stretch four, a guy who will get most of his points facing the basket. At 200-ish pounds he’s physically a ways away from contributing at the high-major level and will have to get considerably bigger and stronger. He has a bit narrow frame, so there’s a question as to just how much bigger he can get. He moves fairly well for his size, not awkward, which is perhaps his biggest upside.

Recruiting:
UCLA OFFER UCLA offering Olesinki now means there’s some doubt about their chances with the elite prospects they’ve been recruiting that are waiting until spring to decide, like Stephen Zimmerman and Ivan Rabb. It’s a bit of a desperation offer, and ironic since there are bigs on the west coast in the class of 2015 who are better prospects than Olesinki that UCLA probably could have gotten but didn’t recruit. You would think UCLA would have a good chance with Olesinki, since is offer sheet consists of Arizona State, Boston College, Creighton and UNLV. Being originally from New Mexico and now in Indiana, the UCLA staff has a connection to Olesinki that got them on him initially and you would think would help them in his recruitment. Olesinki recently said in this interview that he’s in no hurry and wants to visit Arizona State, UCLA, UNLV, and Boston College.
