UCLA came into Arizona and offered one talented defensive lineman earlier this week and now the Bruins have come in and offered another.
Scout has confirmed that Phoenix (Az.) Brophy defensive end Connor Murphy earned an offer from UCLA last night, bringing him to 11 total.
"I am happy to say that I was just offered by them," Murphy said. "I have always heard good things about UCLA and you can never go wrong with the location they are in. It is pretty close to home too. I can't wait to take a visit and learn more about them and what they have to offer me down the road."
So far, Murphy has already started to build a good relationship with the man who might very well end up his position coach if he winds up in Westwood.
"I was talking to the defensive line coach (Coach McClure)," Murphy said. "Most of the time he was trying to get to know me and was asking about me. Then he started to talk about UCLA's background. He said that he could tell I played basketball when I was younger because of how athletic I was on game film. He loved the way I play and how big my frame is. He was shocked when he found out that I am already 6'7 255 pounds. He said he wants me to come down for visit sometime, get the full tour of campus, watch practice and listen in on their meetings."
Murphy (6-7 250) made 71 tackles, 8.5 for loss and 1.5 sacks as a junior.
