West Recruiting Notebook

Feb. 22 -- A look at the latest news and notes from out West in this week's notebook...

7on7 Gets Started

The holiday weekend brought a couple of 7v7 tournaments out across the Southland, both the King of the I.E. and the B2G Preliminaries on Sunday and Monday.

Several Scout 300 prospects showed out while a number of emerging prospects put themselves on the map from the 2016 and 2017 classes as well as the 2018 and even the 2019 class.

4th Quarter Sports swept the top two spots at the King of I.E. tournament, led by prospects like 2017 athlete Deommodore Lenoir and 2016 four-star Darrian Franklin among others.

Lenoir was one of the stars on Sunday at King of the I.E.
Monday's B2G Tournament, won by Team M&D with Etiwanda (Calif.) quarterback Andrew Kanatsky leading the way, was loaded as well.

In fact, several of the B2G Tournament's Offensive Standouts were underclassmen, continuing the trend of good young classes out West.

The B2G Tournament Defensive Standouts had a good mixture of 2016 and 2017 prospects too.

Most of the West's top 7v7 teams will be headed to Las Vegas in two weeks for the the Pylon Elite 7v7 National Tournament, which returns to Vegas for the eighth straight year on February 28th and March 1st, with nearly 100 teams from around the country expected.
