Tulare (Calif.) Union running back Romello Harris (5-10, 181) is sitting on a half dozen offers early on.
And more schools have been talking with Harris.
Harris thinks the Wildcats could be close to offering.
“I think Kansas State could offer within the week,” said Harris. “I’ve been talking a lot with them.”
The most recent offer for Harris was Fresno State, giving him a local option.
“Fresno State is close to home so that would be an option,” said Harris.
Oregon is another school he’s hoping to hear more from.
“I really like Oregon,” said Harris. “I’d love an offer from them. And Cal, UCLA and USC too.”
Most of Harris’ attention has come as an athlete.
“All the schools recruiting me are doing it as an athlete,” said Harris. “I can play slot, cornerback or running back. I’m open to playing anywhere, corner, slot, it doesn’t matter to me. Most schools say it just depends on what I’m weighing when I get to college.”
Harris said he’s open to leaving the West Coast and he’s open to playing in the Mountain West, even with Pac-12 offers.
“I’m open to anything really,” said Harris. “Whatever I’m feeling with the coaches and the environment, I’m open to anything.”
Academically, Harris has a 4.0 with plans to take the SAT in March.
He’ll be at the Oakland Nike The Opening Regional in May.
