N'Keal Harry was easily among the top pass catchers we saw at the recent Pylon 7v7 tournament in Las Vegas over the weekend. He has great size, right at 6-4, 205 pounds, excellent body control and made several acrobatic catches this weekend jumping over a helpless defender.
"I still have a lot to work on," Harry said. "I'm focusing on my routes, cleaning some things up there and doing a better job high pointing the ball. It's coming along though, I'm happy where I'm at and I'm just going to keep working hard and try to get better."
On the recruiting front, Harry said one school is recruiting him harder than anyone.
"USC is recruiting me the hardest right now," Harry said. "I talk to Tee Martin all the time and we have a good relationship. I was down there for Junior Day last month and really loved it there. I loved the campus and they have a great staff.
"I'm coming down this weekend for the NIKE Camp on Sunday and me and Chase (Lucas) are going to visit USC again and UCLA while were down there. I'm not hearing from UCLA but I definitely have interest in them if they wanted to recruit me." UPDATE: UCLA offered Harry on Tuesday.
Along with the Trojans, Harry said there are a few other schools on him hard right now.
"Arizona State, Arizona and Texas A&M are recruiting me extremely hard as well," Harry said. "ASU was my first offer and that's always big. A part of me wants to stay close to home but a part of me would love to get away from home as well so I still haven't figured out what I want do about location yet.
"I really don't have a timeframe for when I'll make my decision, honestly it could be anytime. Whenever I feel good about a school, I'll go ahead and do it. The biggest factors for me will be my relationship with the coaching staff, where I'm comfortable and what offense I'll fit in the best with."
Update from Scout.com's recruiting expert in Arizona, Jason Jewell:
"I'm not hearing from UCLA but I definitely have interest in them if they wanted to recruit me."
That is what four-star wide receiver N'Keal Harry from Chandler (Az.) High School told National Recruiting Analyst Greg Biggins over the weekend. Things changed on Tuesday afternoon.
Harry confirmed with Scout that the Bruins extended an offer, bringing him to nine overall offer. He also has been offered by Arizona, USC, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Oregon State, Colorado, Washington and Arizona State.
Harry, who is scheduled to visit UCLA this weekend with teammate Chase Lucas, says, "The coaches just talked about how I played this weekend & said they wanted to offer me. I don't know too much about UCLA but I've definitely been looking into it. They haven't been recruiting me a whole bunch until now."
UCLA has had success recruiting at Chandler, with current running back Paul Perkins graduating from CHS as well as former quarterback Brett Hundley. "I haven't talked to Brett but I've spoken with Paul a couple times," he says.
Harry (6-3 210) caught 30 passes for 657 yards and 13 TDs this year, helping the Wolves win the D1 state title.
