Bakersfield (Calif.) Liberty linebacker Krys Barnes (6-2, 213), is up to 15 offers, with Cal offering him at their Junior Day.
And Barnes may not even be close to being done.
“I feel like UCLA is pretty close to offer,” said Barnes. “I’ll be visiting there on March 14th for a personal Junior Day and I’ll meet with Coach (Scott) White, the new linebackers coach, and will get a tour of the facility, meet the coaching staff and that should be pretty fun. I feel like they’re close to offering.”
Barnes has been talking with White consistently.
“Coach White and I talk on a daily basis,” said Barnes. “He seems like a great coach and I’m excited to get down there to see how he interacts with players. It should be fun when we visit UCLA.”
Barnes will take a couple more visits in the month of April.
Barnes said he’s in no rush to trim his list or come to a decision.
“It’s still way too early in the process to have a top five, so I don’t have one yet,” said Barnes. “All my offers are at the top right now. There is more that goes in to the school than just the colors. You have to do research, look at the academics and find the best fit. So it will be a while before I come up with my list.”
Barnes said most schools like him in the middle.
“Most are saying middle linebacker, but a couple are saying outside,” said Barnes. “It will be where coaches feel is best for me but I like middle the most right now.”
Barnes helped Ground Zero win the Pylon Elite 7v7 in Las Vegas last weekend and he’ll be back at it this weekend at the Los Angeles The Opening Regional Camp.
