The Bishop (Calif.) athlete, who committed to Arizona State last week, already has five offers and just earned his third Pac-12 offer, this one from UCLA.
"It means a lot," Kampmoyer said of the UCLA offer. "Just that they're giving me a scholarship, even though I'm committed and all. I'm still keeping an open mind to other schools."
The Bruins offered Kampmoyer after just a short period of getting to know him.
"Coach Angus McClure offered me," Kampmoyer said. "He's been recruiting me for about a week. He messaged me from Twitter and was just sending me pictures and a lot of great things about UCLA athletically and academically. And then the other day, he asked me to give him a call, I did, he let me know that him and a couple of other coaches would watch some of the recruits' film and that he wanted to talk to me afterward. We talked, he liked my film, and he gave me the scholarship."
Kampmoyer, who has some versatility, is being recruited as a tight end by Arizona State but as a defensive end by UCLA.
"It doesn't really matter to me what position I play as long as I get to play," Kampmoyer said. "I'm totally open to playing either in college."
California, Boise State, and Utah State have all offered Kampmoyer as well, and he's definitely interested in going through the process.
"Arizona State is OK with me going through the process," Kampmoyer said. "I'm still committed to ASU with a strong commitment, they know that. I just want to experience the recruiting process."
Kampmoyer has plans to visit UCLA, California, Boise State, Utah State, and Washington this spring, after already having visited ASU for the Sun Devils' Junior Day recently.
"I went to Junior Day there and I just loved it," Kampmoyer said. "I've been talking to Coach Chip Long, the tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator, as well as Coach Todd Graham, the head coach. I'm just building a strong relationship there. They were the first ones to offer me back in early November. They've just been around."
Kampmoyer reports that he's 6'4, 240 pounds now, and holds a 3.5 GPA.
