Felton Commits to UCLA

When we talked to Temecula (Calif.) Great Oak athlete Demetric Felton at the Opening Regional Camp in L.A a few weeks back, his top two schools at the time were Cal and Michigan. After landing a big local offer, Felton had a change of heart and committed to UCLA moments ago.

Temecula (Calif.) Great Oak athlete Demetric Felton is an extremely versatile athlete and could play slot receiver or running back in college.

He was recently upgraded to 4-stars and it's deserved after seeing him on the 7v7 circuit as well as the Opening Regional. He's strong, powerful and fast and very good after the catch.

He'll be over 200 pounds in college so he could stay at running back, his current position but at 5-9, most schools feel his size projects better to the slot and that's where he's predominately being recruited.

"UCLA was the perfect fit for me," said Felton. "It was too easy a fit for me."

California and Michigan appeared to be in a good spot for Felton just a few weeks ago but the UCLA offer and a subsequent visit to campus put the Bruins over the top.

"Coach (Eric) Yarber was who recruited me and our personalities are similar. Coach Mazzona was the first to offer me," said Felton. "They want me to play the slot receiver role for them."

The new four-star is ranked No. 52 at his position nationally.

"I'm shutting it down," said Felton. "No more trips for me. I'm loyal to them and expect the same loyalty back."
