Recruiting:Jaylen Brown is the object of one of the most mysterious recruitments in recent memory. He’s the #1 prospect in the country, and deservedly so, so of course he has his pick of where he wants to go (And, by the way, it’s almost certainly going to be for just one year). He’s waiting until the spring signing period to decide and he’s kep the entire nation on pins and needles. He’s officially visited Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina and UCLA. He’s been to the hometown schools, Georgia and Georgia Tech, numerous times. Scout.com exclusively reported that he just threw everyone a curve ball recently and used his fifth and final official visit to see Michigan, and then flew, on his own dime, to visit California. In a recruitment that has kept everyone guessing, those recent developments added to the mystery. As of right now, there are any number of programs that believe they’re getting Brown – Kentucky, UCLA, Kansas and even Georgia. We’ve reported that the UCLA program is confident he’s coming to Westwood. We know, though, that Kentucky’s John Calipari is pretty confident Brown will play his freshman year of basketball in Lexington. For UCLA’s Steve Alford, getting Brown is critical. Without him, the UCLA roster for 2015-2016 has some issues; with him, it could be an Elite 8 level group of talent.
We found the following highlights of Brown from an event that we hadn’t published yet on Bruin Report Online:
