Oakland (Calif.) McClymonds quarterback Kevin Davidson (6-4, 222), is closing in on his first offer.

Once that happens, Davidson thinks the floodgates will open. "San Jose State said they're going to offer pretty soon," said Davidson. "And I think that will open things up a lot."

Nebraska and UCLA are two other schools he's talking with a lot.

"I was close with the Nebraska coaches when they were at Oregon State and I talk with them a lot so I'm going to see them this summer and camp there," said Davidson. "I've been talking a lot with Coach Angus (McClure) at UCLA and he wants me to call him every week and I talk to Coach (Taylor) Mazzone a lot too so that could be interesting."

Since Davidson only played a handful of games his junior year after transferring, his game film is limited so he knows the spring will be crucial.

"The consensus I'm getting is that schools want to see me in the spring and there are a lot of schools that are interested in seeing me throw," said Davidson.

A number of Ivy League schools have been showing interest in Davidson.

"Harvard, Princeton and Yale are all definitely interested and talking with me," said Davidson.

Davidson said he's dropped 10 pounds since the end of the season and is continuing to getting to an ideal weight.

"I want to be in the 220 range and I'm getting into really good shape," said Davidson.
