Hall Takes In UCLA

Apr. 10 -- The Los Angeles (Calif.) Hawkins 2018 receiver, Jalen Hall, checked out UCLA over the weekend...

Los Angeles (Calif.) Hawkins 2018 athlete Jalen Hall got an offer from UCLA last fall when he had just barely begun his high school career.

Hall now has 14 offers and UCLA continues to be a presence in his recruitment, hosting him for an unofficial visit in February and then having him back on campus on Saturday with B2G for their spring practice.

“It was cool at UCLA,” said Hall. “Seeing Josh Rosen throwing was cool. He’s a real good player. The whole time turned out well. They offered me in the fall, during the season, Coach Yarbs (Eric Yarber) was who offered me, so I talked with him on Saturday.”

Hall said talking with Yarber and watching him in action was good.

“Coach Yarbs is a good coach and I always see him happy,” said Hall. “He’s a cool coach and I like everything about him. I like their receivers too. I like how he coaches. As soon as he sees them doing something wrong, he points it out so they learn. The way he coaches is very cool.”

On his previous visit to UCLA, Hall got to see more of the school.

“The first time we went, we took a tour and met some players and coaches and got to see everything,” said Hall. “They’re remodeling everything and its going to look good.”

He also got a quick chance to talk with head coach Jim Mora.

“I spoke to Coach Mora real quick on Saturday, but we had a real good conversation the previous time I was there,” said Hall.

Hall also checked out USC last week and before that, visited SMU, TCU, Baylor and Oklahoma.

Later this month, he’ll visit Washington.

With 14 offers in before he’s even finished his freshman year in high school, Hall said he’s still in shock how his recruitment has picked up.

“It’s surprising that I have 14 right now but now its just reality,” said Hall. “But I’ve been working for it, so it all makes sense.”

This weekend, Hall will play with B2G in the IMG West Regionals in Los Angeles.
