Modster Closer To Decision

Apr. 7 -- La Flores (Calif.) Tesoro quarterback Devon Modster checked out Boise State and Washington State over the weekend and will take a couple of more visits before it's decision time, with one potentially to UCLA this weekend...

Devon Modster is closing in on a decision and it could come as soon as next week. This past weekend, he visited Washington State for a day and then spent two days at Boise State.

"Both trips were good but I was more comfortable at Boise State," Modster said. "Wazzu was cool, I like the coaches and the offense but I wasn't as comfortable in Pullman as I was in Boise. The campus was nice but the area around it was just ok for me.

"At Boise, I really loved it there. I visited two years ago but this was a lot more in-depth and I did a lot more this time around. We did the whole campus tour, watched the team scrimmage and I spent a lot of time with the coaches. They really went all out to show me how bad they want me and I really appreciated that."

Modster's older brother Sean plays receiver for the Broncos and it's no secret how close the two are.

"I've always looked up to him and it has always been a dream to play together," Modster said. "He did great in the scrimmage too. I was actually kind of surprised at how good he looked but excited for him too. The coaches were great with me and I really like those guys a lot.

"Coach Harsin is a great guy, really cool and I like Coach Drinkwitz a lot as well. We went over the offense and watched some video of how I would fit in there. I think I would fit in really well for sure. They run a spread but also go under center so it really prepares you for the NFL."

Modster will visit Arizona and possibly UCLA before making a decision.

"I'm going to Arizona on Tuesday," Modster said. "I know they already have a quarterback committed but they told me they want to bring in two and still like me a lot. I visited UA last year and I like it there a lot so I'm looking forward to seeing it again.

"I'm going to try and visit UCLA on Saturday if I can. I'm not sure I'll be able to get out there but I visited a few weeks ago and I'm pretty comfortable with the place and what they have to offer. Hopefully I'll be ready to decide in the next week or two. I'm going to take these last visits and go from there but I'm close for sure."
