Colacion Staying On UCLA's Radar

La Habra (Calif.) linebacker Jacob Colacion (6-1, 216) had no offers when March started.

But gradually, more and more schools are liking what they see in Colacion.

“I have seven offers now,” said Colacion. “Illinois, Indiana, Nevada, Fresno State, Boise State, San Jose State and Washington State have offered.”

More schools could be getting involved too.

“I’m hearing a lot from Northwestern and talking a lot with Duke,” said Colacion.

Last Saturday, Colacion made the drive to Westwood to visit UCLA.

“I went up to UCLA for their practice last week and toured their facilities,” said Colacion. “I’ve been there a million times but it was the first time I’ve seen the facilities. We talked to the recruiting coordinator there.”

Colacion grew up a UCLA fan and would love an offer from the Bruins.

“UCLA has always been my families school,” said Colacion. “They’re the ones we always watched on TV. I’m hoping they pick things up during the eval period. I’d love that.”

Colacion has visited a number of schools already.

“I’ve been up to UNLV, Cal, San Jose State, Nevada and Fresno State,” said Colacion.

He’s also hoping to see a few more.

“We’re planning to get over to Boise at the end of the month,” said Colacion. “Arizona too.”

Colacion is hoping to make a decision before he starts his senior year.

“I’m hoping to make a commitment before my season,” said Colacion. “My dad and I are going to sit down and see which schools are most interested and I’ll camp with them and we’ll see what happens.”

Colacion said that linebacker is where he’ll play in college, but some schools have brought up safety.

“It’s been mostly outside linebacker or hybrid but once in a while a school says safety,” said Colacion. “I would like to play straight outside linebacker.”
