Crawford on Stanford Trip, Local Favorite

Apr. 14 -- One of the best wide receivers in the west for 2016, Dylan Crawford, talks about his visit to The Farm, which program is his local favorite, and a timeline for a decision...

Dylan Crawford is one of the elite prospects out West and one of the best receivers in the country. We caught up with him over the weekend at the IMG 7v7 tourney to see how his recent visit to Stanford went.

"I liked it at Stanford a lot," Crawford said. "It's different for sure but a good different. The people there, from the faculty, professors and coaches are all great people and you get the sense that they're trying to help you more than any other school after football. You're not just an athlete there, you can sense that.

"I got along great with all the players as well. I spent a lot of time with Christian McCaffrey and he was real cool. He was telling me what it's like as a freshman and how you manage your time between school and football. Like I said, it was a real good visit and I have a good feel about Stanford right now."

Crawford was able to spend plenty of time with the coaches as well.

"Coach Pritchard is the WR coach and I like him a lot," Crawford said. "We talk almost every week and we have a solid relationship. He went over the offense with me and the terminology a little bit. It's a complicated system, the langue but I understood it. I guess that's why Stanford only recruits smart athletes, you can afford to have a more complicated system."

Crawford doesn't have any other visit dates set but does have a few schools in mind.

"I want to get to Oregon for sure," Crawford said. "I'm still waiting on that offer. I would also like to visit Michigan again, either unofficially or officially. Right now, I'm wide open and don't even have a top 10 yet but the plan is to narrow things down in the summer and then commit at the end of the summer.

"After I commit, I still want to take 3-4 official visits, just for the experience. I would love to visit Alabama and LSU, maybe Michigan like I said. "I won't visit any schools that are close to home like UCLA or USC since I can go up there any time.

"I'm still considering both right now but don't need to visit since I've seen both already. I have a better vibe and I'm more comfortable with UCLA right now between the two. It could change and goes back and forth but right now, I like UCLA a little better as a local option."
