Long Beach (Calif.) St. Anthony’s athlete Logan Gamble (6-5.5, 197) has seven offers and more schools could be closing in soon.
“I have seven offers, from Arizona and Washington State from the Pac-12 and then from the Mountain West, Wyoming, Nevada, Fresno State, San Diego State and San Jose State,” said Gamble.
Gamble thinks a few more are close too.
“Right now, I think UCLA is about to offer and Washington is super close and then I want to say Boise State, Duke and Colorado are close. All of them want to do spring evaluations,” said Gamble.
Gamble checked out UCLA last weekend.
“I visited UCLA and talked with Coach (Kennedy) Polamalu and Coach (Eric) Yarber,” said Gamble. “Coach Yarbs and I are building a good relationship. I feel like an offer is coming. He loves my size and he loves my film. I gave him my transcripts too.”
Gamble said that UCLA likes his ability to catch.
“UCLA is recruiting me as a Y like Thomas Duarte,” said Gamble. “They like that I can go and get it.”
Gamble is hearing from schools at a number of positions.
“Some schools have offered me as an outside linebacker, like Washington State, they strictly like me there,” said Gamble. “Some other schools like me as a tight end, like Washington and Nevada as a tight end/receiver. Then some schools have said defensive end or athlete. San Jose State likes me as an athlete and so does Arizona and Wyoming likes me as a defensive athlete.”
Gamble said he’s open to either side, though offense is standing out to him a bit more right now.
“Right now, I’m in the mood of offense because of 7v7 but when the season starts, I’ll be feeling defense,” said Gamble. “I like receiver because I can flex out and I’m the fastest tight end in this class in California and I measured my wing-span at 83 inches. But I can block too.”
Academically, Gamble has a 3.3 GPA and already has qualifying scores on the SAT and ACT.
