Anigbogu Commits to UCLA

May 1 -- 2016 four-star center Ike Anigbogu committed to UCLA Thursday night, and he is one of the fastest-rising prospects in the country...

UCLA's 2016 recruiting class expanded to three on Thursday night when 6-foot-9, 225-pound Corona (Calif.) Centennial center Ike Anigbogu chose the Bruins.

Arguably the West Coast's top center prospect in the class, Anigbogu is an elite shot blocker and very good defensive player who has made significant strides offensively over the last year.

"UCLA was kind of his dream school all along," said Anigbogu's AAU coach with the Compton Magic, Etop Udo-Ema. "It just so happens that his sister goes to UCLA as well so he's really familiar with them. It's a Nigerian family and they're very close-knit."

Anigbogu's sister being enrolled at UCLA was important, as was the four-star prospect's relationship the Bruins' staff.

"(David) Grace is familiar with a lot of our guys and so is coach (Steve) Alford," said Udo-Ema. "Ike was really comfortable with them. He's been there a lot and he's been to the games. He's very comfortable there."

Currently ranked 63rd nationally by Scout, Anigbogu is due for a rise up that list next update.

The four-star prospect joins point guard Lonzo Ball and wing Kobe Paras in the Bruins' 2016 class.
