Chandler (Az.) Basha quarterback Ryan Kelley had great success as a sophomore. In his first year as a varsity starter he threw for 3,108 yards and 30 TDs.
Arizona State took notice early notice and offered in October of last year. Another Pac 12 school has jumped in and become the second to offer the talented junior-to-be."UCLA offered me today," Kelley said. "Coach Mazzone came up to my coach after practice and said how he thought I was amazing."
Mazzone had more to say about Kelley's place in the 2017 hierarchy.
"He said that I'm number one quarterback on his recruiting board," Kelley said.
Kelley (6-3 180) is familiar with the program and the success they have had with another Arizona QB in Brett Hundley.
"They have been recruiting me for a while," Kelley said of UCLA. "I've been getting mail a lot lately from them on their camps and what not. I know they have a successful program. They run a spread offense and they like to throw the ball around."
With two offers under his belt before the start of his junior season, there are sure to be more offers to come. Kelley says that Oregon, North Carolina, Texas A&M, Michigan State, Colorado, Texas and San Jose State have all expressed interest.
