Bruins Check Out Bainivalu

May 27 -- The Sammamish (Wash.) Skyline 2017 offensive lineman, Henry Bainivalu, is starting to draw more national attention and UCLA checked him out this month...

Sammamish (Wash.) Skyline 2017 offensive lineman Henry Bainivalu (6-6, 302) is up to five offers, with a big national offer coming in last week.

“Coach (Jay) Harbaugh from Michigan came up to the school and Michigan offered me,” said Bainivalu. “It was pretty exciting.”

Bainivalu already had four Pac-12 offers but now the word is spreading nationally.

“I have offers from Washington, Cal, Oregon State and Washington State too,” said Bainivalu.

And he may not be done with the two Los Angeles schools also recruiting Bainivalu.

UCLA linebackers Scott White played at Washington and was in the Evergreen State earlier this month.

“Coach (Scott) White from UCLA came by the school and they’re talking to me more and I think they could offer,” said Bainivalu.

Across town, USC, with head coach Steve Sarkisian a former Husky coach, is also keeping an eye on Bainivalu.

“Coach (Bob) Connelly from USC came by the school and they like me too,” said Bainivalu, who comes from the same school USC backup Max Browne prepped.

Bainivalu isn’t in any rush to make a decision, just trying to enjoy the process early on.

“It’s really exciting and a blessing to have these opportunities,” said Bainivalu. “I’m just trying to enjoy it.”

Bainivalu will be at The Opening Regional in Eugene next month.
