UCLA Makes Cut for Nation's #2 Safety

Jun. 1 -- Texas five-star prospect Eric Monroe now has a list of ten finalists...

The No. 2 safety in the country, Eric Monroe, recently released a top ten, and while he is still actively looking over those ten options, the Galena Park (Texas) North Shore defensive back has a small handful within those ten that have been recruiting him a little bit harder.

The 6-foot, 180-pound Monroe said that LSU, Texas Baylor and Texas A&M coaches have been on him the most.

With Baylor, he raved about the coaching staff, and with Texas A&M, he's comfortable with the environment and seems to be excited about their “crazy” fan base. As far as LSU, he said “Death Valley is amazing. I have to get back there soon.” And with Texas, he likes what Charlie Strong is doing to get things “right” with the program, and likes the defensive staff as well.
