Orange (Calif.) Lutheran offensive lineman Logan Bathke (6-5, 260), is up to seven offers and a couple more schools could be close to offering him.
“Kansas was my first offer,” said Bathke. “Coach (Zach) Yenser was recruiting me at Cal and then when he went to Kansas, he offered me. BYU and Stanford are also recruiting me. Hopefully Stanford will offer me too.”
UCLA was the most recent offer for Bathke and it was a big one for him.
“UCLA was by far the biggest one for me,” said Bathke. “Coach Kennedy Polamalu was who offered me. My coach told me that UCLA was going to be coming to the school. It came out of the blue, they came that day and they offered me.”
Bathke plans to visit UCLA on Thursday, his first chance to meet the rest of the coaches and see the school.
“I’m going up on Thursday and I’m really looking forward to seeing the school and meeting the coaches and just getting a better feel for UCLA,” said Bathke.
“Keisean is already recruiting me to UCLA,” said Bathke.
Bathke will then leave on Friday to visit Arizona and Arizona State.
“These will be my first real campus visits this spring so I’m excited to get out there and definitely get a feel for everything,” said Bathke.
A commitment might not be far for Bathke, who said UCLA was one of the schools he grew up rooting for.
“If I go up there to UCLA and like what I see, I might commit,” said Bathke. “I don’t want to drag it out. It's stressful. I just want to get it done.”
If he doesn’t commit, Bathke could camp with Stanford.
“I may or may not go to the Stanford camp,” said Bathke. “If they offer me before, I won’t go but if there is a good chance I could get an offer if I do well at their camp, I may go.”
Bathke plays right tackle for the Lancers and said most of his offers are coming to play that spot.
“Schools have said I could play any position on the line, but for the most part, it has been for right tackle,” said Bathke.
Acadecmially, Bathke has a 4.0 and scored a 24 on the ACT.
