Hill said Arizona and California were also under consideration, but the only school he visited was UCLA. “I took a visit down there today,” he said. “They explained everything and I went around the whole campus and saw the things they have going on and the things they are going to build.” “They showed me all the stats, the history and all the stuff they can do and all the stuff they have and how they take care of the players,” he added. "Plus it’s close to home and my family.” A 6-foot-8, 205-pound post player, Hill helped the USA Basketball U16 team win a Gold Medal in the FIBA Americas U16 Championship. Hill, plays AAU ball for Compton Magic, is ranked as Scout’s No. 25 player in the 2017 class. Hill is UCLA's second commitment of the 2017 class. He joins LiAngelo Ball, who is Lonzo Ball's brother, to make up their current class.
Jalen Hill Commits to UCLA
Jalen Hill, a 2017 prospect out of Corona (Calif.) Centennial, made an early pledge to UCLA on Sunday shortly during an unofficial visit to campus. Hill informed Scout of his decision. "I really didn’t think that I was going to make the decision today," Hill told Scout. "They spelled out everything I wanted and everything I was looking for in a college. There was no other second place to them. I went with my gut."
