SUWANEE, Ga. - Chula Vista (Calif.) Mater Dei Catholic point guard Jaylen Hands is one of the top players in the 2017 class, but he isn't satisfied yet.
"I want to be consistent," Hands said. "I have really good games, but sometimes I have let downs. I want to consistently play great.
"My strengths right now are being a floor general, passing and scoring, getting everyone involved, but also being able to score well myself."
Hands is not ready to name any favorites, but there are four schools that are recruiting him the hardest.
"California, Arizona, UCLA, Stanford, and SDSU are the main schools I am hearing from," he said. "I am taking it slow with AAU going on. After our last tournament I will start thinking about it more."
"They recruit me a lot," Hands said. "T.J. is telling me that Arizona is the best option and Jalen is telling me UCLA is in my backyard. They both have good pitches."
As of now, Hands has one visit scheduled and knows what he will be looking for when he takes it.
"I am visiting Arizona the 7th of August," he said. "My parents have visited UCLA and SDSU and then hopefully California.
"I like to see how I fit and where I will be comfortable the most. I want to know the coaches care about me and will do what it takes to get me to the next level."
