Patterson Hearing From UCLA

Jul. 11 -- The nation's No. 1 quarterback has recently been in contact with the UCLA staff...

Five-star and No. 1 quarterback in the country Shea Patterson won the Elite 11 this week at The Opening. This was our first chance to see Patterson in person, and from what we saw, this was one of the few times where the results of the competition actually matched what we saw. Patterson has a very pretty throwing motion with no extra movement, great feet, and a strong arm capable of making all the throws. His decision-making might be his best attribute, though, both in terms of quickness and quality. He was really impressive the entire week.

Patterson committed to Ole Miss earlier this spring, but that hasn't stopped at least one other schools from touching base with him.

"Actually, UCLA's coach hit me up this week," Patterson said. "He wants me to get out there, but I'm still solid to Ole Miss."

This was the first time that UCLA had been in touch with Patterson throughout his recruitment.

"They really haven't talked to me at all until now," Patterson said. "Their coach just contacted me and wanted me to come check things out."

While UCLA is pushing him to visit, he said that he has no set plans to take a trip to L.A.

"Maybe down the road," Patterson said. "But I don't have serious plans to visit any other schools right now. It could change in the future, but as of right now, I don't.

"I'm a really solid commitment."
