The Opening: JohnCarlo Valentin Evaluation

Jul. 16 -- Scout breaks down how uncommitted offensive lineman JohnCarlo Valentin performed at The Opening...

Philadelphia Imhotep offensive lineman JohnCarlo Valentin spent time as a center and guard at The Opening, and in both positions demonstrated the talent that brought him to the event.

Valentin was strong with his initial punch, and he usually played with a low pad level. He played with a low base in pass production most of the time, but at times got a little high, and also allowed the defensive lineman to use his hands and disengage.

Valentin showed quick feet to recover and used his strong lower body to keep the lineman in front of him.

Valentin is set to visit Auburn and Alabama later this month, and already has an official visit to Arizona State set for Sept. 18. He is also trying to schedule a visit to UCLA, and he also has Michigan, Penn State, Temple and Rutgers on his list.
