Ryan Kelley is the state of Arizona's top quarterback in the 2017 class. He has earned a four-star ranking by Scout and already has hauled in offers from San Diego State, Washington, Washington State, Texas A&M, Nebraska, North Carolina, UCLA and Arizona State. Kelley recently took a visit to UCLA and talked to Scout about the visit.
"It was really nice, they have a beautiful campus," Kelley said. "My favorite part of the visit was probably checking out their campus and their facilities. Their campus is beautiful and their facilities were outstanding."
The Bruins have had a lot of success recruiting the Grand Canyon State, with former starting quarterback Brett Hundley hailing from the same city as Kelley.
"I met Brett Wednesday," Kelley said. "I think we play alike. I think the strengths in my game are being able to feel the pressure in order for me to step into the pocket or get out of it. Also I feel like this off season I've really matured with reading the field so I feel like I've become smarter with making reads."
Kelley (6-3 185) had great success as a sophomore. In his first year as a varsity starter he threw for 3,108 yards and 30 TDs.
It looks like father and son Mazzone are both playing a big role in the recruitment of Kelley."The main recruiter has been Taylor Mazzone and his dad Noel," Kelley said. "I like coach Mazzone's offense and see myself fitting into it. I see UCLA as a school that I will consider until the end."
