Several outstanding 2017 prospects were on hand this weekend at Ohio State for the Buckeyes' Friday Night Lights camp, and Clairton (PA) cornerback Lamont Wade was in attendance although he did not work out.
Wade, 5-foot-11, 180-pounds, already holds an Ohio State offer and is one of the Buckeyes top defensive back targets for the 2017 class.
"I wanted to be here because I have a real high interest level in Ohio State," Wade stated. "I love coming up here and I love being around the players. The coaches are great to me, and I love the facilities. I've developed friendships with Marcus Williamson and Danny Clark from the 2017 recruiting class."
With offers from the likes of Auburn, Pittsburgh, Penn State and UCLA, in addition to Ohio State, Wade has hit the recruiting radar in a big way.
"I would say schools sticking out to me other than Ohio State would be UCLA, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Penn State, Virginia Tech and Auburn," he explained. "I would like to make my decision next summer, sometime before my senior season starts."
"This fall, I'd like to go see games at Michigan State, Virginia Tech and hopefully UCLA," he added. "I'd love to go to see Auburn play as well. I'm going to take my time with my recruiting and find the right school for me."
"I'm the type of player that is electric, and I play with a lot of energy," Wade said. "I do not take plays off, and I go full-tilt every single play."
