Three In-Home Visits Set for T.J. Leaf

Aug. 24 -- In-home visits are being set up for five-star power forward T.J. Leaf...

It was a busy and interesting summer for T.J. Leaf. From playing overseas to de-committing, to now being at the Elite 24 Game, a lot has been happening for Leaf who now has some in-home visits set.

“It was a great experience in Austria,” said Leaf. “Playing overseas basketball is a different game, so it was kind of hard to get used to, but it definitely helped me grow up a lot as a player and as a person.”

Just after he returned from Austria, Leaf decided to re-open his recruitment, and he says a lot went into that decision.

“I just want to take my time,” Leaf explained. “I feel like I rushed into things the first time and committed too early, so now I want to take my time and make sure I am making the right decision. I have a second chance, and it was nothing that Arizona did, I love those guys, but I felt there were better opportunities for me as a person.”

Now Leaf is considering eight schools, “It is California, San Diego State, UCLA, Texas, Kansas, Kentucky, Gonzaga, and Indiana.”

When it comes to making visits, Leaf says that no officials are set, but he is already aware of three in-home visits.

“I will probably do official visits during the season, maybe some during November and then in December and January,” explained Leaf. “I have in-home visits set with Indiana September 10, Gonzaga September 13, and Kansas September 14, but I don’t have any officials set.”

When researching schools and talking to coaches, Leaf does know what style of play is going to be important to him.

“The main thing for me is a really free system where you can take quick shots,” said Leaf. “I like to get out and run and as a team get as many points as you can.”

At the moment Leaf expects his recruitment to go into the spring, but he is leaving the door slightly open for a decision in the fall.

“Most likely I will wait until the spring, but if I just know somewhere is the place for me I will decide early,” noted Leaf. “Most likely it will be in the spring though.”

Editor's Note: We've heard that UCLA will have its in-home with Leaf Sept. 9th.
