Add another official visitor for Oregon this fall. San Diego (Calif.) St. Augustine offensive lineman Mike Alves informed eDuck on Tuesday evening that he will take an official visit to Eugene on Oct. 10 during his bye week when the Ducks take on Washington State.
The three-star prospect is planning on taking all five of his official visits and, although he doesn’t have dates set up yet, he does have destinations in mind.
The four aforementioned programs and Boston College make up Alves’ top five. HE believes he’ll be able to make at least a couple of those trips during the season, specifically with UCLA and Wisconsin.
“I’ll probably just do those Friday night after a game and just get on a plane,” he said. “In terms of making a decision and stuff like that I’ll probably do that towards the end of the season. Probably a couple months after the season ends.”
Alves doesn’t currently have a leader but said he keeps in contact with Oregon and Wisconsin via Twitter and Washington through frequent conversations with tight ends coach Jordan Paopao. However, he knows more about Boston College and UCLA than the other programs thanks to previous unofficial visits.
“I actually got to speak with most of the coaches at Boston College and I really only got to talk to Coach Klemm and his assistant coaches at UCLA,” he said. But for the most part, just because I’ve seen them in person really and been to their campus, I guess you could say I know them a little bit better.”
