Houston Westside defensive tackle Jordan Elliott is one of the state's top prospects at the position and until recently, was committed to the University of Houston. Over the weekend, the four-star prospect announced via Twitter he would be parting ways with the program.
"I would like to thank UH for the wonderful opportunity that they have given me," he wrote. "But doing what's best for me has brought me to the point where I need to continue my recruitment process. They've shown nothing but love. I need to make sure I make the right choice in where I'm spending my next four years."
As expected, other programs immediately jumped on the 6-foot-4, 300-pounder, who picked up offers from UCLA, Nebraska, Oregon State, and Minnesota on Monday night alone. Add these programs to a list that includes Texas, Baylor (where he was also once committed), USC, Alabama, Arizona State, Auburn, Arkansas, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and many more, and Elliott has his hands full in making his collegiate decision.
Scout checked out Elliott in action over the weekend, as Westside faced Klein in a Thursday night match up. Elliott and the Wolves are will take on Brenham (Texas) this weekend.
