There aren't too many players better on either side of the ball than Jackrabbit athlete Jack Jones.
Jones is the nation's top rated athlete and could shine at corner or receiver in college. He helped his Poly squad to a huge showdown win over Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne last Thursday in a game that was attended by UCLA head coach Jim Mora.
"I had no clue he was coming but it was great to see him there," Jones said. "That could be my future head coach so it meant a lot to see him come out to watch our team. I was motivated for sure and one of our guys, Cameron McDonald, picked up an offer after the game.
"We knew we had to return the love so a lot of our team went to their game against Virignia on Saturday. I thought they looked very good, especially considering it was the first game of the year. Josh Rosen lit it up and the team played well. I think they like me more for corner but I would like to play some offense too so if I chose UCLA, hopefully Coach Yarbs could work me in there."
With September 1st being the first day players in the class of 2016 are allowed to receiver phone calls, we expected Jones' phone to be ringing off the hook but surprisingly that hasn't been the case.
"Texas A&M is the only school that has called me," Jones said. "They're actually recruiting me harder than anyone right now. I haven't locked in any official visits yet but I definitely plan to try and check them out for sure. I watched a little bit of their game against Arizona State over the weekend and they looked really good.
"This weekend there's a good chance I'll be at the USC game and I still want to take visits to Michigan and Florida too. I message with Coach Heyward (USC DB coach) a lot and we have a good relationship. Same with Coach Meat (Martin-UCLA DB coach), those two schools hit me up a lot but no one is on me as hard as A&M."
BRO Editor's Note: We learned that UCLA Defensive Backs Coach Demetrice Martin talked to Jones on the phone Wednesday night.
