Sept. 14 -- We look at how UCLA prospects did in week three of the high school football season...

***Game of the Week:***  Concord (Calif.) De La Salle def. Anaheim (Calif.) Servite, 52-15

The Spartans defense got five tackles and a sack from Devin Asiasi and three tackles, including one for loss from Boss Tagaloa in their blowout of Servite.  The Spartans ran for almost 400 yards with Tagaloa up front and Asiasi caught two passes for 51 yards, including a 47-yard touchdown. 2017 four-star receiver Terrell Bynum caught a 16-yard pass in the loss.

Gardena (Calif.) Serra def. Carson (Calif.), 43-0

Serra bounced back from their loss to Corona Centennial with a blowout shutout of Carson.   UCLA commit Oluwole Betiku had two tackles for a loss and a sack and UCLA athlete recruit Brandon Burton had five tackles and 30 yards receiving for the Cavs.

Corona (Calif.) Centennial def. Orange (Calif.) Lutheran, 35-14

Centennial got another monster performance from Scout 100 receiver Javon McKinley, who caught 10 passes for 211 yards and scored a touchdown in the win.  UCLA just offered OLu junior Brandon McKinney and he had 12 tackles and forced a fumble while catching an 18-yard touchdown pass in the loss.

Kapolei (Hawaii) def. Ewa Beach (Hawaii) Campbell, 16-7

UCLA committed offensive lineman Sean Auwae and Kapolei won a slugfest over Campbell, racking up just over 300 yards.

Rialto (Calif.) Carter def. Riverside (Calif.) North, 69-19

After sitting out their previous game, UCLA commit Lokeni Toailoa returned with seven tackles and two tackles for loss in a 50-point win.  He also ran for a 15-yard touchdown on offense. San Jose State commit and UCLA target Leni Toailoa added three tackles for Carter and blocked a field goal. 

Lawndale (Calif.) def. Encino (Calif.) Crespi, 35-19

Before a shoulder injury shelved him, Crespi running back and UCLA commit Jalen Starks was having a big night, with over 100 yards rushing and a touchdown. But the shoulder injury knocked him out and could keep him out for an extended period.   

West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade def. Valencia (Calif.), 43-38

UCLA commit Dymond Lee played just a little quarterback, going 5-for-9 for 56 yards with a touchdown pass and an interception, but had 66 yards receiving and also rushed for 36 yards in their win.

Fountain (Colo.) Fort Carson def. Broomfield (Colo.) Legacy, 17-14

UCLA quarterback commit Matt Lynch was held to just 75 yards passing, going 12-for-23, with no touchdown passes or interceptions in their first loss of the year.  Lynch ran for 45 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the loss.

Moreno Valley (Calif.) Rancho Verde def. Temecula (Calif.) Great Oak, 37-27

UCLA commit Demetric Felton had 126 yards on 18 carries and scored on a 78-yard touchdown run but Great Oak fell to 0-3 on the season.

West Linn (Ore.) def. Portland (Ore.) David Douglas, 49-14

UCLA commit Osa Odighizuwa had a sack in Douglas’ loss to West Linn

Torrance (Calif.) North def. Beverly Hills (Calif.), 48-0

Another one of UCLA's main targets, Mique Juarez,  a USC commit, threw three touchdown passes and ran for two in a shutout win over Beverly Hills.

Westlake (Calif.) def. Los Angeles (Calif.) Garfield, 31-7

Theo Howard had 10 catches for 158 yards and two touchdown receptions and running back Chase Jasmin ran for 111 yards in the Warriors win.

Hayward (Calif.) Moreau Catholic def. Piedmont (Calif.), 55-9

UCLA long snapper commit Johnny Den Bleyker had five tackles and ran for 20 yards on three carries to keep Moreau Catholic unbeaten.

Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne def. Palos Verdes Estates (Calif.), 45-14

Narbonne, which features UCLA target Alex Akingbulu on the offensive line, had over 550 yards in total offense to cruise to a 31-point win, their first of the year.

Los Angeles (Calif.) Hawkins def. Playa del Rey (Calif.) St. Bernard, 53-0

UCLA receiver recruit and 2017 five-star Joseph Lewis had six catches for 114 yards, 2018 four-star Jalen Hall had two grabs for 69-yards, one a 38-yard touchdown and UCLA four-star athlete recruit Greg Johnson had 124 total yards and three touchdowns, two tackles, a tackle for loss and an interception in the win.

Los Angeles (Calif.) Loyola def. San Diego (Calif.) St. Augustine, 23-20

UCLA targets Myles Bryant and David Long each had a pair of tackles, with Long scoring a touchdown on offense and Bryant adding 54 yards in offense to help the Cubs hold on in a 3-point intersectional win.

Others

Lafayette (La.) St. Thomas More and UCLA punter commit Bailey Raborn beat El Dorado (Ark.), 44-14.  Los Angeles (Calif.) Windward and UCLA commit Breland Brandt won 44-8 over Los Angeles (Calif.) Animo South.  Nashville (Tenn.) Montgomery Bell Academy and UCLA tight end commit Jordan Wilson def. Memphis (Tenn.) Hamilton, 55-8. Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue (QC) John Abbot College and UCLA kicker commit J.J. Molson def. Victoriaville (QC), 54-8.   UCLA receiver target Steffon McKnight def. San Diego (Calif.) Mt. Carmel, 41-34.

Cancelled Games:

Fresno (Calif.) Clovis West and UCLA commit Darian Owens, Bakersfield (Calif.) Liberty linebacker and UCLA commit Krys Barnes and Clovis (Calif.) Buchanan and UCLA recruit Bryson Young all had games cancelled because of poor air quality in the Central Valley.

Bye Week:

Long Beach (Calif.) Poly and five-star target Jack Jones had the week off before they play Bishop Gorman.
