VIDEO: Deon Hollins on Pass Rush

Sept. 20 -- Deon Hollins talks about UCLA generating a pass rush and how often he thinks he was held...

Deon Hollins:

On their performance:

I think a lot of guys stepped up tremendously. A lot of new guys, Jacob Tuioti-Mariner and Denzel Fisher played good games.

On the pass rush:

The first few games, it was kind of slow. But Coach Bradley said the sacks would come if we kept playing hard.

On if they had matchups they liked:

Absolutely. On film, they did a lot of 1-on-1 protection.  It was great.

On Myles Jack's pick:

I was so happy.  The tackle held me and I was saying something to the ref.  But he's a great player. We expect him to perform like that.

On if they worried about Mangum:

We were playing for it.  He laid into us at the end there, 'don't let them get the miracle.'

On how many times he was held:

To be perfectly honest. Eight.  Six, seven, eight times.

On what the win means:

This is a big win and a testament to our toughness.  Last year, we don't win that game.

On what it does for their confidence:

I can't speak how much it does for our confidence. BYU, the way they play, bigger guys.
