Ka'imi Fairbairn talks after the Cal game.
On the momentum after his first field goal of the game:
It was good, good to get on the baord and tie it up and it started our offense and got them going.
On the 60-yarder being a record:
One of the other kickers told me. We have those game booklets we look at and they were looking at it so they were talking about it halftime.
On how far the kick would have been good from:
I haven't seen it on film yet. I drove it. It felt pretty good coming off the foot
On if he felt like he'd make it after hitting the 55-yarder before:
That was a good warm up kid. I always tell Longo and Jerry, even if there is a penalty or a timeout, always snap it to get the kick off and the rep in.
On keeping the FG team on the field:
I gave coach the thumbs up, lets kick it. I knew I had the distance. Especially after the kick before from 55.
On how far he's made it in warmups:
On his success this season:
It feels pretty good. Especially Coach Mora always believing in me, my teammates always believing in me. I keep my head down and go to work and we have to go back to work and we have our work cut out for us the rest of the year.
On breaking Chris Sailer's record, his prep kicking coach:
He was here tonight, and texted me before the game. He might be a little mad. I'll give him a call and say sorry. I owe it all to him, he got me here and he's kept in contact and given me tips so I thank him for that.
