Could UCLA Be Close to Offering 2016 QB?

Oct. 27 -- UCLA could be on the verge of offering a scholarship to another 2016 quarterback, a Canadian sleeper who's starting to blow up while playing his senior year in Alabama...

UCLA could be on the verge of offering another 2016 quarterback.

He's Nathan Rourke, the 6-2, 200-pounder from Elmore (Ala.) Edgewood Academy. Rourke, though, is almost completely unknown because he's from Canada, and only came to Edgewood for his senior season.  Since arriving at the small, private school, Rourke has lit it up; in nine games he's thrown for 2576 yards and 44 touchdowns, and 248 yards rushing and four rushing touchdowns.

Rourke reportedly has been contacted a couple of times by UCLA quarterbacks coach Taylor Mazzone, and spoken with offensive coordinator Noel Mazzzone.  According to a source, head coach Jim Mora will make a decision on whether UCLA will offer soon, perhaps by the end of this week.

Since he's in their backyard, both Alabama and Auburn have shown interest.

UCLA already has commitments from Matt Lynch, from Colorado, and Dymond Lee, from West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade, even though Lee's future is thought to be at wide receiver.
