West Regional Football Recruiting Roundup

Nov. 7 -- Key news and notes from the West in Scout's weekly Regional Recruiting Roundup...

Theo Howard - WR - Westlake (Calif.) - Committed to UCLA

Howard ended his recruitment on Sunday when he committed to UCLA. The Bruins made a big surge for him after he originally committed to Oregon in late spring. And when he opened things up in summer, UCLA continued to prioritize Howard and receivers coach Eric Yarber ran point on getting the Scout Top 50 receiver on board. Howard is UCLA's highest rated receiver commit (No. 8 nationally) on Scout in the last decade and will instantly provide gamebreaking abilities to the Bruins passing game.

Colby Parkinson - TE - Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian - 2017

Parkinson has had a big junior season as one of Matt Corral's favorite target and the 6-7, 220-pounder is a lock for the Scout 300 when the 2017 rankings are updated. Parkinson added two more offers in the past week, from UCLA on Saturday and from Michigan on Tuesday, giving him eight altogether. USC has also offered Parkinson this fall to go with early offers from Washington, Washington State, Ole Miss, Tennessee and California and two more Pac-12 schools, Oregon and Stanford, could be next to offer Parkinson, who's helped Oaks to a 9-0 record in the Marmonte League heading in to their final game.

Brian Hightower - WR - Calabasas (Calif.) - 2018

Quentin Davis- QB - Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco

Chase Lucas - ATH - Chandler (Ariz.)

The four-star athlete has missed most of his senior season with a knee injury but that hasn't stopped schools from recruiting him. He is back and healthy for the playoffs and announced at teammate N'Keal Harry's press conference that he would be committing on Monday. The hometown Arizona State Sun Devils have been the long time favorite for Lucas. He has visited Washington and they may be a darkhorse in this race. He also has visited Oregon State and two of his teammates, Mason Moran and Hamilcar Rashed, have pledged to the Beavers, that may have some influence. But ASU has to like their chances..

National recruiting analyst Greg Biggins and Southwest regional analyst Jason Jewell contributed to the roundup.
